Contact Zone Gauge NIP CON
Small and easy-to-operate device to adjust and control hard/soft paired inking and damping rollers.
The Contact Zone Gauge NIP CON gives fast and reliably information over the width of the contact zone and thus over the pressure between hard and soft rollers. It makes a valuable contribution for quality assurance, especially during assembly work and service of inking and damping units. It is used during the adjustment of cylinders.
The measuring device has been designed for in the printing industry typical rubber hardnesses, typical thickness of rubber coatings and typical rubber diameters. It is easy to handle: Just position the two sensors between the rollers, turn pressure on and NIP CON supplies measured values for left and right. Very helpful for the roller adjustment is the "nominal value control light". There is simply no easier way to adjust rollers.
Working principle
Signals of sensors are evaluated that are positioned between hard/soft paired rollers. The sensors are positioned by means of an on/off function or with the press in inching operation. The rollers do not move during the measuring operation. The width of the contact zone is digitally indicated as a measure commonly used in the printing industry for the adjustment of the rollers. The adjustment and control of nominal values is easy with our optical "nominal value control light".
