Gap Gauge GAP CONTROL
Small and easy-to-operate device for the measurement of the distance between the surfaces of hard/hard-paired rollers or cylinders. The device is also applicable with large cylinder diameters. Its calibration is uncomplicated.
The gap gauge GAP CONTROL measures the distance between roller or cylinder surfaces. It is preferably used during the machine assembly. To carry out the measurement a feeler gauge is inserted between the two surfaces.
The GAP CONTROL has been designed for typical distances of 1.8 ... 4.2 mm and cylinder diameters ≤ 500 mm. It is an indispensable hand-held device with severely reduced operating functions: Switching on and off will do. Due to its high measuring accuracy and measuring speed the device replaces the end gauge and the feeler gauge. There is simply no easier way to measure distances.
Working principle
Sensors on a measuring wedge, that is inserted up to the end stop between hard/hard paired cylinders, register the position of the contact with the cylinder surfaces.
The cylinder distance is calculated from the contact position and digitally indicated on the display. The cylinders are not moved during the measuring operation. The device is preferably used during the machine assembly where due to its high accuracy and measuring speed it replaces the end and feeler gauges.
